Good for you, Marek. Investing your time and resources into something like CampRED, combined with opening yourself up to what Ted, Brian, and the rest of the RED team might have for you is probably about the best move that you can probably make while young and looking to progress your career.

You will for sure look back on your career and pinpoint CampRED as some of your best days of your career's formation. Well, at least I am for sure.

Thank you Joseph, you are right. I'm so blessed to be here.

Here is a new video from Friday, shot on EPIC. 5K. Lot of fun.

There is another video that I'm working on (and also shot on EPIC), it's the whole 1,5 hour Camp RED film festival event. About 17 minutes long video for everyone that didn't make it there so you can listen to Ted talking about the camp and everything..

+ there might be short version video of the event just to feel the atmosphere, I might work on this later.

This is a quick post from my iPhone just to show you how cool Camp RED is!
We are in Malibu for the 3rd week.

Here is a picture of our outside theatre at Malibu camp:

This is so much fun! We shot really good footage on a day 1, had a fun in pool, hiked up to see the amazing view of the mountains and much more..

    UPDATE:
And of course we have EPICs and Scarlet here at Malibu.
Here is a photo of one rig here at Malibu camp:

Camp RED week #2 was a blast! It seems I spent most of my time around the younger kids. Not so much because my daughter was one of them as I didn't want to hover, but they were the one group that really needed extra help, especially in post. The whole camp was chaotic with a lot of positive energy.

Seeing these kids actually put together coherent productions on a moments notice is great fun. There were multiple set-ups for the various groups of kids to rotate through -- including a 3D rig from 3Ality Technica, green screen set and a game show. Some of the kids put out some really amazing work given the short amount of time and relatively little exposure to the equipment or even to the whole process in general. The music videos were the real stand-outs of the week, very impressive. One of which was pretty phenomenal.

I will have to do this again. :)

I don't know how interested most would be in seeing what the kids produced, but I think a couple of the music videos do warrant some public display, if at all possible. Ted's little side project he put together the last two days should be shown as well. "If you don't go to Camp RED, you don't get to see the back of the xxxxxxxxx..." -- nope, won't spoil it.

And that's it. Camp RED 2012 is over. I'm sitting at LAX right now, waiting for my flight back to London and later Prague.
Like last year - what an amazing experience Camp RED was for everybody!

It's really funny, when we left the Shalom Institute camp this morning, we talked about how we got really use to all the cameras, equipment over the past 3 weeks. When you are in charge of the technical camera gear and you basicaly use it every day... you really have zero problems with building the rigs and using the EPICs and SCARLETs and helping kids with shooting better.

For me, whole camp was thrilling experience. I shot lot of stuff with kids and on few on my own (You will probably see my little funny video I did for RED from week 1/2:). I had lot of fun liveblogging first two weeks at RED STUDIOS on my Twitter. I met many people from last year, I also met some amazing new people and campers. It's almost unbelievable that there is such a great group of people behind the core of Camp RED. From Marcus McDougald, whole 3ALITY TECHNICA team, Todd Thaxton to David Helmly, Brian Henderson, Bre Botticella, of course Ted Schilowitz, Riqué Carroll and many, many others. I will probably see some of you in Amsterdam at IBC '12. Camp RED really puts kids IN the film business. There is no other camp where Matt Damon is high-fiving kids while shooting Behind the Candelabra in the center of Hollywood studios. There is no other film camp that gives you chance to see the back of a Hollywood sign, there is no other camp that gives you the opportunity to use the most advanced movie cameras and film technology in the world.

Week no.3 was totall blast! From horseback riding, ropes course, archery, zip-lining to having fun everyday at the pool.. We shot huge amount of RED footage and many show-motion clips that looked pretty amazing on our giant outdoor screen where we screened dailies and finished projects every night. We had so many amazing - creative minds - kids - that pulled of many cool projects during all 3 weeks. I'm sure some of these clips will be available soon for you to see. We also shot really cool and funny music video during the 3rd week in Malibu. You will definitely see this one. Other than shooting with EPICs and SARLET in the hills of Malibu.. it was huge fun for the small kids and also for the big 'kids' there..

I'm definitely not the only one that can't wait for Camp RED 2013. So big thanks to all of you behind the Camp RED this year for making this whole experience possible!

Some of you saw it on a big screen at RED STUDIOS, but I finally got it up on Vimeo for everyone to see.
My take on the fun at this year Camp RED. Shot on EPIC.
