    Hi Guys,

I updated to OsX lion last week and unfortunately quicktime wont play back RED proxies anymore, the video files open up in quicktime, but the image stays black. I already reinstalled the FCP plugin but that didn't solve the problem either, does anyone else have that problem or maybe a solution ?

    thanks heaps.

I have the same issues in 10.7. In 10.6.8 the proxies only worked in Quicktime 7 and not Quicktime X. I'm not sure if Quicktime 7 is included with Lion.

If you are are proapps user, do not download the latest installer but the QuickTime 7.6.6 installer.

If you were a pro apps user you will see that it installs, recognizes that pro apps serial and has all the functinoality it had under the previous OSX.

Can save you 29 bucks if you had a previous proapps version.

dont really have a previous apps installer :/ 29$ isnt too bad if that solves the problem i might just get 7 Pro.

haha yeah Mark, i should have learned my lesson, never jump on the first generation APPLE train for anything, Lion is a pain...permanent WIFI drop outs since the upgrade. I hope your EPIC is treating you well, i got to see one yesterday at a shoot at Skilled Park in Robina...DAMN SEXY !

Is there any updates about this? Is Quicktime Pro the only solution for getting proxies to play on Mac OSX 10.7 and above?
