A "wireless module", somthing that distributes a low rez image stream from the camera around the set (or to a director/producer/VFX house/ etc half a world away who can't be on set). That would be pretty slick.

Maybe much more handy than a proxy module.

Something like a Teradek Cubelets™ Encoder/Decoder Pair HDMI or HD-SDI camera-top wireless HD video encoder/decoder ideally suited for on-set video monitoring as well as full-scale film production

agree... this would be sick. i hope somebody makes that happen. worst case scenario an iphone could pick up the wireless stream and broadcast.

    +1 for that Sanjin.

Teradek is avail now and works, no reason to wait for RED to do it if you need it now.

Well, it's less useful for editing, than for playback, when it comes to varispeed footage, so I'm not sure what you're saying...
And I've only ever seen the Ki Pro mini bought and used for playback.

anyway... BRING ON THE PLAYBACK IN CAMERA!! :)

... a while ago I put down money that playback would happen at the same time as Epic-X delivery. I hope I'm right.

My experience with the Teradeck is that it is not good for high quality monitoring
due to its latency and the high compression. Also the other solutions for wireless HD
that I know (IDX camwave, Transvideo Titan) are not a very good solution due to
their relatively short distances especally in buildings!

So a wireless solution which provides fast and high quality wireless preview isn't
still available at a good pricepoint. So if RED provides better solutions it would
    be a great deal!

(I know that's not the topic of the thread, but it has been brought up there ;-)

Of course, playback is #1 on the priority list currently.

I'm with you Mark... Kipro is good for clients, agency.. producers, maybe onset editors, VFX teams doing quick comps.. But when your the DP on a huge set and shooting super quick, screaming out through the radios for video playback or walking back to video village is the last thing you want to do.

I rate the KI PRO mini as the best pack back side tool for EPIC, .. but nothing, and I mean nothing! beats pressing a button on the camera and watching back what you just shot 1 second after you shot it.

Anyway... I'm sure RED are trying very hard to get it working. I know Jim is probably more keen than all of us.
I doubt they are holding it back for EPIC X launch... well I hope not.

Does the autostop function work for with edge code output (via arm recording) or also with normal timecode output?
