    Has anyone attempted this yet?

The footage I've seen from the RED One and EPIC has a very beautiful and characteristic look.

But I would like to see someone take EPIC footage and make it look as if it was shot in 1975, Dog Day Afternoon style.

I mean, skin tones, grain, etc.

Anyone else out there interested in this?

I DPed an indie feature in Tuscon and Montana and we used my vintage Canon k35 glass which was produced in the late 70s. With a nice flat curve and some grain, we achieved the exact look you're talking about. It's all about the glass...

Rick, do you have any screen shots or links to any shots from the movie? This is something I've been after for a while as well and would love to see what others have been able to achieve.

    Cheers,

I've been testing a set of Cooke Speed Panchros -- the old Arri standard mount vintage, Series II/III. Testing in harsh light. There is a wonderful "shape" to the image that I've not seen in a long time. Very reminiscent of 50s/60s studio films. Not really the "Dog Day Afternoon" look, but earlier.

I think the control of dynamic range Epic gives you makes the character of the glass more apparent that its ever been.
