Pretty cool, a TS-Atom run by a sip all wireless. awwwwww shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhit.
Yeah I know, it could be so, a redesigned RED EPIC I/O Module to utilize al the 3Ality technology...
Bad news is...
I'll have to come back to the USA to get trained on the SIP and other 3Ality Tehcnologies... :(

I am typically opposed to these kind of mergers/acquisitions. That said, knowing the players involved I think it's likely to be as good for all of us, as it is for the companies and their staff.
Beyond that, 3ality came to the party with some of the most sophisticated technology I have ever seen. Element's manufacturing prowess, build quality and customer relations are first rate.
Now if I could just get excited about 3D...

Truth is that I am seen 3D get better and better, and more and more people that hated before get interested in it, that as the tools of 3D making get better, and the 3D projection tools get better as well,
more anymore people will continue to enjoy 3D, and sam at home with Blue-Ray 3D... ;)
So, Blair, there is still a chance for you he he, especially if... or I should say... WHEN you come to Italy to KETCH ROSSi STUDiOS, I'll contaminate you with 3D al over he he.
IMHO there are two predicates for me (and a lot of other folks) to really get into 3D.
1) The display tech has to improve at least another full generation. I have been to some excellent facilities to view S3D content and the IQ is just not there (color, contrast, pop).
2) Many hours of exposure to high quality 3D content (Avatar or better) to "train" the eye/brain system of the viewer. For someone like Lucas who sees tons of 3D his brain has learned how to process the visual information being presented far better than a noob. My analogy is the conditioning that makes it possible for most of us to enjoy a fast cut montage today that would have been epilepsy inducing in 1980.
I can see the financial sense in creating S3D content in 2011 due to better odds of asset shelf life (4K vs 1080 is the same equation) but as of today, 99% of the time I would rather see well presented 2D than mediocre S3D. I will now don my flame resistant suit ;-)

NIce news... Hey Lucas, now you can proceed with my quote... :-)
Btw, any presence at IBC, this year?
