    Hi all,

Here is the teaser for my senior thesis film at The Art Institute of Portland, Remediation, shot on the Red One MX. I wrote, directed, shot, and edited this film. I'd love to hear feedback on it! I'm still amazed at how crisp these images came out. Can't wait to get my hands on an Epic! I still have a lot to learn about shooting with Red, but for my first time with this camera package I am amazed at how quickly everything was up and running.

    Camera - Red One MX
    Lenses - Zeiss ZF 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm

    Enjoy.

Maybe it'd work better when seen in full but it feels too "clean" for the lack of a better word. It seems like it's meant to be somewhat heavy and dramatic but the look is more a lot prettier than it should be, to me anyways. Like you got the lights and wanted to show that you can use the skills you've learned visually but not in tone with what the story's meant to be. Like I said, it's all based on a trailer and I have not seen the movie but that's my impression

Thanks for the input! That cleanliness does actually play an important part in this films visual narrative, I'll be sure to post a link to the film in its entirety once it has been completed and made its initial rounds. I'm really glad somebody picked up on that. Reduser, such a great place!

Yea, the composition and editing is very good... but I feel the lighting isn't working. It's over lit, almost to the point of a Soap-Opera look. The MX is very sensitive... maybe try just using natural lighting for the fill and an up-stage key light. Or if it's already shot, you could probably crush it down a bit with some grading.
