    If I were to take DPX files right out of RedCine and import into Premiere Pro CS3, could those files be 4k? It says it can do 4096 x 4096 but I don't know if that would include DPX files.

    If your project is setup for 4k, then yes, any 4k file (including a DPX) is supported.

    4K DPX playback would require sustained datarates of nearly 1GB per second, so the number of cpu cores is not the issue, it is disk speed. Also DPX files are not supported by Premiere CS3, only AE. You may want to consider Prospect 4K: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...newpost&t=6412
