Going crazy trying to figure out a solution for my upcoming Epic bridge plate solution. Red offers the DSMC 19mm quick release system. I love the idea but I don't like the idea that it can't be adapted to a 15mm system so I'm holding off for now. Element Techinca sells their Hybrid plate which is awesome but they are currently not selling the riser plates anymore because of the bottom Epic-X redesign and they don't know when that will be in stock. I want to be fully prepared with accessories once my Epic-X arrives within a few weeks so want to know what people are doing that have their X cameras now. What are my options? I don't want to buy something today, only to have it not work for me tomorrow.

    Thanks!

Forgive me if this is not what you mean, but surely these items together solve your request:

The 19mm mounts usually seen on the Red quickrelease are separate removable pieces. If you're after studio offset this isn't applicable, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're after anyway.

15mm studio setups are offset. Everything RED offers is centered. I have heard that offset is coming, there's just no telling when.

Edit: The problem isn't solved with a different universal mount, it would be on the bridge plate or the riser:

You could always order the Element Technica 15mm offset pieces for the hybrid and attach those to the QR Bridge plate.

Apparently it will not work as expected. The 15mm spacing is still centred on the QR Bridge plate regardless which system one choses.

Hmm, I'll check out Off Hollywood's pics and take a closer look.

    Thanks

I'm still using the original ET 15mm and 19mm bridge plates with one of these, as a serviceable riser: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00..._ya_os_product

makes the whole thing quick-release, which is kinda nice.

I'll upgrade my support systems eventually, but also waiting while all these new goodies get released - don't want to spend a buncha money on accessories now in the early innings, only to have better stuff released within the next year. settling for things that are currently workable and not expensive.

    Hi Meryem,

Do you mean to say that that Manfrotto plate has the correct height to act as a riser plate and allow for mounting a MatteBox on the 19mm/15mm rods?
