Remote record on / off cable for EPIC .. anyone?

Some thing like the RED ONE had with this little cabled run start press button Veiw factor made some time ago.
    http://www.viewfactor.net/index.php/...hes/origo.html

Since the REDMOTE does not transmit further than 8 to 10 feet at the moment, I'm looking for a quick, reliable , safe form of remote on/off switch for the RED EPIC similar to the view factor version, with 30 to 50 foot long cables.

    Any ideas anybody? RED?

PS... and if anything exists.. what port to do put it into for the EPIC.

As far as I know the Epic in the booth there was connected via the Lemo to Cat5e cable to a router and that's where the wireless connection was happening. I'm sure they're working out a direct REDLink connection as well.

soooo.. in short.. no easy fix? mmmmmm... yes, I hope Curt makes something shortly.

It's a pain to have to hire a preston unit just to turn a camera on.. a simple button on the end of of the cable is all we need.

Somebody must have made something up..? that is simple and just works.

I'm going to keep BUMPing the post up, I'm sure somebody has found a simple solution.

    Thanks guys.

Page 138 of the EPIC manual gives you the wiring configuration.

The cable could be made up easily enough. It would just be a pretty expensive cable because the cables and connectors are expensive. Also, are these standard LEMO or are they like the new EPIC proprietary power LEMO.

Is there a way to amplify the REDMOTE signal or add a repeater in between, presumably it has to be on a specifc frequency that does not interefere with RF transmitters?
