I have been obsessed with Turkish cinema for a long time now. It is unbelievable how many auteurs have spawned out of Turkey in the past 20 years. Last year I independently was writing a wordpress blog leading up to the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. I wrote a series of articles based upon the work of 2 Turkish auteurs. Those who are fans of NBC may also enjoy the films of Semih Kaplanoglu & Reha Erdem.

Ceylan is one of the greatest names of our time, legit successor of a prior tradition such as Antonioni's cinema for example. And he is alive and kicking (E :-)
