    Hardware:

    Mac Pro 3,1 8-core
    OSX Lion 10.7.1
    Sonnet Tempo E4P eSATA interface
    Red Station SSD
    SSDs formatted by EPIC v1.6.40

    GTX 285
    Red Rocket
    Decklink Extreme 3D

    Red Station is attached via eSATA

    Whenever I pop in a mag it gives me the old "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"...

    The mag will show up in Disk Utility but will not mount.

    If I attach the Red Station with FW800 it works as expected.

    This setup worked perfectly in the past.

    I'm assuming this is an issue with the Sonnet drivers... Anybody else experienced this?

    Knew I shouldn't have "upgraded"...

    Sounds like it may be an eSata driver issue. Are there new drivers for your esata card, for Lion?

    Did the RedStation eSata work in Snow Leopard for you?

    Also, have you tried the FireWire connection to see if this is isolated to eSATA? I was just working this morning with SSD's, Sonnet eSATA Expresscard on my MBP with 10.7.1. No issues. Also connected to my tower via FW.

    Test the firewire connection to see if it works there. I'm also betting a SATA driver issue. I can mount SSD's here just fine on 10.7.1 release and on the latest 10.7.2 developer seeds.

    FW800 works fine.

    I'll call Sonnet next week...

    Hi McKay! I'm having the exact same problem with my new Sonnet Temp Expresscard. Did you happen to find a solution? I may have to go buy the Caldigit one instead if I can't get it to work.

    thanks!

    Still having issues... Funny thing is that it works great in my hackintosh running 10.7.1 but not in my real mac pro 3,1 running the same OS.

    Does it work on the Hackintosh using the same SATA adapter? I still think it's a SATA adapter / driver issue on your Mac. I'm mounting the SSD's all day long on ATTO and CalDigit SAS/SATA cards.

    Having the same issue on my early 2008 MBP. With 10.7.1/10.7.2 + Sonnet Tempo Pro Expresscard + Red Mag reader, I get "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer..."

    Take any of those variables out and everything is peachy: i.e,
    10.7.1/10.7.2 + Sonnet Tempo Pro Expresscard + PM eSATA works;
    10.7.1/10.7.2 + Dynex eSATA card + Red Mag reader works;
    10.6.8 + Sonnet Tempo Pro Expresscard + Red Mag reader works.

    Seems to be that particular combination. I emailed Sonnet about the issue, and they said they'd get RED in on it as well. Anyone else have any suggestions? The issue I'm having seems to be exactly the same as this - http://blog.newsyland.com/mac-os-x/m...l-command-line
    I can mount using the terminal, but then I cannot unmount at all.
