Sync sound using RCX

I have been trying to sync my sound using RCX and I am having no luck. I have read the manual and can't see what I am doing wrong. The sound files I have are .WAV files and I am right clicking on the clip and selecting "Attach Audio." I am trying to set the video slate frames and the audio slate frames, but the best I can manage is some sort of Chipmunks version if I get any sound at all.

Do any of you have any tips on what you are doing to get this to work? This is the level of my frustration: http://173.199.159.58/forum/images/smilies/banghead.gif
