Happens to us every job... What we found is we change the SSD to quickly sometimes.. and next thing it wont mount. Had us miffed for months! Finally figured out a solution... Which seems to work for us.

We turn of the SSD reader, then pull out the SSD... let it sit for about 1 minute, turn the reader back on wiat 10 seconds, them put the card back in.

For some reason it sort of needs to clear itself.

    Hope this helps.

Same issue with brand new REDMAG. Tried Mark's method - no joy. Tried new Firewire cord from my stock - success for a single card swap. Seems to be a defective cable from RED. However the WatchDog seems flaky at times. Freezes and weird mount and eject issues. Seems buggy. Any updates coming? Looking at a spinning beachball right now and no way to Force Quit.

Do you have other devices plugged into firewire?

    Hello Deanan,
Thank you for the reply. I might have had one other thing plugged in - is that a problem? I gave up trying on the tower Mac since I ran out of time. Traveling now. Any chance that the WebTeam could make sticky in a separate forum space a top level category for the major system components with an official RED Team answer (with continuous edits to keep current). It is very difficult to do multiple searches for the known issues since there is thousands of User generated threads. This would save you guys time as well since you can answer the questions ONCE.
Thank you for your time and efforts,

    -Josh

If you have multiple devices pulling power over the FW bus then you can overload the power.
Sometimes the mac will shut them off and you need to do a zap pram a few times to get them back.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but having a similar issue on set. Only worse.

We have 2 128GB SSDs. One is working as intended. The other will not mount on camera or in the 1.8" station. The latter has been tried on FireWire and eSATA, both before and after zapping the PRAM.

Im out of ideas to try. It looks to me like a dead mag, which would be pretty bad. And ideas?

Nick, was it a dead mag? What did you end up doing?
I want to have my scarlet, and eat it, too.
