Hopefully we will see the scarlet base plate, module adaptor, and mini primes before or around Nov. 3rd

Probably see is that day, but ahead of time would be nice. I have some gigs at the end of November I would LOVE to have a functioning setup for, asap! These are exciting times!

Well - considering the angst from Epic folks who seemed to have Brains before some accessories, even basic stuff (side handle, Red Volts...) - I expect that this roll-out will include lots of accessory inventory. Since I think its fair to say that the factor of Scarlets that will be immediately ordered vs Epic production will be - what? - 10-to-1? it would mean a LOT of people screaming for the add-ons out of the gate. I pre-ordered my BOMB last Nov. in anticipation (OK, of NAB 2011 release...) and it showed in August. Obv. not a problem as it turned out, but that kind of delay for Scarlets-in-the-Wild accessories would be a bit of a problem. Jim is well versed in mass-production retail so I can't imagine the Red Team not gearing up ALL aspects of the Scarlet roll out.
    But - still glad I pre-ordered my BOMB ;)

Are talking about something similar to the EPIC modular assault plate pack?

It would be a big problem...

Scarlet for many (like myself) will be our first RED camera, if essentials Accessories are missing it's an expensive paperweight while we wait to get them. I'm hoping RED is going to have enough parts on hand (and Cameras) to meet the order anticipated load. Non essentials we will have to wait for like everyone else.

Brain, Handle, Mount/Fixed Lens, SSD/CF reader, batt charger, SSD/CF cards & battery (at least one per. Camera), 5" Red Pro touchscreen, cables to make it all work.

On nov 3th they will announce everything we ever wanted to hear. Including all the accessories that are ready for shipment when the camera ships.
Perhaps they will not be available o the 3th, but most of them will be available when the camera ships.
That's what I think. Just wait and see.
I don't think RED will give us more info before the announcement.
Everyone is very occupied with tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.
Just today, we forget to be happy. Every day again, be happy, today, be happy...
    The sunset was wonderful...

I honestly think the only reason we comment and check these threads still, is cause we are all a lil anxious and this is the closest we'll get until 11/3.

Or... we can watch Ted on Youtube say he can't talk about Scarlet for 10 more times. LOL

Your not concerned Paramon that there will be better (or perhaps only) KIT options available? I guess the parts wouldn't lose their value even if you doubled up on say two stations or something?

I'm also a little unsure in regards to media needs, personally I have always expected 3k - but 4k does makes a significant difference to recording times and prompts me closer to 128gb' vs the 64's.
Interested to hear other peoples thoughts on all this?

And lol Eston, yes I believe that is certainly in no small part true.
But I'm also trying to become as informed as possible, with also certainly a concession towards the fact that i'm scared shitless of stuffing up on "order day" and missing a crucial window, for a crucial something or other!

I can see it now... Me posting my agony amidst the raving jubilations of the Scarlet "Best indie camera in the world!" thread...

"Really? Sorry man, but how dumb are you? You dropped 12k on a RED Scarlet package but forgot to order the modular, "Turn camera on" button?
"Well frankly, your a dumb ass and you and your dumb ass Indie dreams deserve to wait another three years for a Scarlet!!"

    ...sniffle, sniffle...cry

    :D
