The goal in 2005 was to build the best camera in the world.

    In 2011, we succeeded.

EPIC was conceived, designed, prototyped, and manufactured in California. Not Germany. Not Japan. Not China.

It is the 1st time that the best camera in the world has been made in the USA in over 100 years. By a team of 400. Not 100's of thousands.

We are very proud to be shooting the biggest budget movies this year.. as well as the smallest.

    Just a few...

    Spiderman 4
    The Hobbit
    Prometheus
    Contagion
    The Muppet Movie
    Oz
    Elysium
    Jack the Giant Killer
    Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
    The Great Gatsby
    Underworld 4
    I hate you, Dad.

Then add the best fashion photographers in the world shooting covers for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, W, Interview, Esquire, Vanity Fair... and a ton of others.

The best movies and the best stills... same camera. Never done before in the history of cameras.

The RED team is complete. We don't have a few of the best horses in our stable..... we have all the best.

We have the best product, and by far the best customers.

We are not a scam. We are not "beta". We are here. Now.

We challenge the industry to respond.

    Please.

He reminds me of my brother in law. Linebacker size. Kindest guy you ever met. Unless you try to f*ck with him*. Then prepare to run. FAST.

Truly fantastic to see how far we've come in such a short time, and the the extraordinary motivation of our team is still building each and every day.

Honored to be a part of that team.

Here's the EPIC REDucation group in action that day at the studio while most of the RED gang was down south, shot with an EPIC of course :-)

    now we're talking!

i have been around for a long time with this company and pushed many many times to get stuff delivered, fixed, shipped, purchased, made and adjusted and never have i heard or read the word, (wait for it)....

NO....this is a company of YES WE CAN!

I can not in 10,000 words describe all that has transpired since that fateful day in april of 2006 to me and i only know 1/1000th of what goes on in the OC and now in Hollywood and beyond.

these 400+ people are truly dedicated to making us happy. i know, as i have pushed them, many many of them to the limit on many occasions and they consistently exceed my wildest expectations!

I challenge anyone to name a company in the history of companies that has done more for their customers and future customers than RDC.

It started with JIM and a dream, and Ted was the next call...glad you chimed in TED to tell us where you were for this pic...

thanks all including all of you on the forum who have taught me a lot and have inspired better products to come out of red.

    dino

i want to add that i am currently on a feature where we have 9 epics, we shoot about 2TB a day and have for 29 days averaging 14 hours a day. not one time have we had a problem with any of these cameras! they have performed perfectly! thank you!

What do you think the Oakley-per-Capita value is in that crowd?
