  1. #1 Epic-M #866 First Shot
After a few weeks of getting finances figured out with the bank - I received my Epic-M this week!

Getting it rigged out has been challenging but fun. Most importantly for me, I'm able to fly it on my Zephyr!

This is nothing more than a quick clip off of the Steadicam while in my office, shot at 5k at 96fps with a bit of ramping. Although its just a cluttered desk (not mine, the people we share office space with)... somehow it is still incredibly captivating. Gets my mouth watering for the real stuff.

Can't wait for the Canon mount to arrive to get out to shoot some wildlife a 400mm. In the meant-time who wants to come play?

Nice! Were those flares added in post? Also, same question goes for the volumetric light spill from the window.

Where are you located? I bet you will have lots of curious folks wanting to test drive the best camera on the planet.

The flares and the light spill from the window is all in camera - Adam's link is a thread with a solution to fix them. Its a pretty easy fix, and good to know of if needed, but for personal, mess around stuff, I don't mind. I'll definitely get myself some foam to keep in my kit whenever a client isn't happy with that look, and it'll be good to address before-hand.

Doug, I'm in Omaha, NE - smaller market, but we'll have our share of Epic-X's soon. For now, I'm the only one available in town, so I'm hoping to pick up a few projects before the X's all make their way here... I think there will be 6 epics in our market total.

For the record, If anyone is interested, I'm very willing to travel. Omaha is nice, but I've spent plenty of time on productions outside of Omaha - gotta stay sane somehow. Shoot me a pm if you're ever interested in talking more with me about any projects - I'm part of Torchwerks (www.torchwerks.com) a production company with two full edit suites ready to handle any size production.

Just uploaded some 300fps play from today with a couple dogs we had in at the studio. Again, nothing too special, just seeing what 300fps looks like. The answer is awesome. Shot handheld off of a shoulder rig.

It'll be ready to view by 7:35pm central time.... about 20 minutes.
