    I just started up my computer after arriving to set for filming on monday and my RR is not showing up in RCX or RCPX... so i reinstalled the drivers, and then tried the firmware updater and got this error:

    SV_ERROR_DRIVER_HWCHECK, Driver hardware check failed, run dvs test utility.

    am i in trouble?

    I had this same issue a couple months ago. Tried everything. The card was on as a rental. We shipped the card back and the owner sent it to RED. RED said they couldn't figure it out and the card would have to be repaired for $3k.... The card worked perfectly fine the night before the shoot, then on set NOTHING. Pissed me off. Still not sure what caused the problem. Please let me know if you ever find out anything. I talked to Deanan and Jonathan when I was dealing with mine...


    This is the thread that I was posting in when I was dealing with my Rocket issues back in September.
    Not sure if anything in there will help you, but I wanted to at least point you to where I was posting back then.

    Try a safe restart:
    -take the rocket out of the computer, switch the dip switch # 8 at the bottom of the card to I (other direction than 1-7)
    -put it back in, restart and reinstall driver and firmware
    -take the card back out and put dip switch #8 back to 0
    You should be good to go...

    Considering the entire EPIC workflow relies on this product, so many reports of failed cards and $3k repairs, sends the wrong message, RED.

    Although your cameras are priced very attractively.....

    The DIP switch solution has worked for some, but didn't for me.

    I agree with Brian. It's not like we are all doing the same thing and messing up the cards. It's something going wrong with the hardware itself or some sort of driver issue that's making the firmware fail as well...

    I don't see the RR on my Macbook Pro too.
    I still see it on my old MacPro ( I have the daughter card for the magma enclosure in it). I won't try the firmware update as I am afraid of losing the RR after it.

    The thing that has solved things for me a few times is to unmount the card and re-inserting it after a little wait.
