I may be the one person who benefited from the big honkin hood. Because it was completely incapable with my old redrock mattbox, and the MB-20 II was almost a perfect snug fit, even as a clamp on, I invested in an MB20-II. SO NICE. AC's have loved this lens, and its been very useful when I need run and gun, or a zoom, or just a very odd millimeter when I'm backed up into a small space but need a specific size shot. Before I had the MB20 I was having to use 67mm circular filters for ND. I'd still recommend picking up a set of those for ultra lightweight shooting, or at least a 62mm Fader ND with a 67mm step up ring. I know using a fader ND is not ideal, but there are times when that can save the day with it's speed of operation and no need for mattbox. Thanks again for V.2.
RED EUROPE LTD will be getting some of the new hood version pretty soon, yes.

I have this lens and I definitely wouldn't want to be trying to fit my fingers inside to turn a variable ND.
Has anyone posted breathing tests with this lens (V1)? I remember seeing some, but I thought it might have been with the 18-50.
