I know that the Red team is working on an improved version of the camera to handle -20 degree but I wanted to let people know that we're doing a shoot in cold weather in Lyon France right now and that the camera was able to perform really nice for an entire night at -5 degree celcius.

Of course we used a lot of warming pads and covers; as Jim mentioned you need to baby sit your camera at all times, but quite often it had almost no protection and it behaved really nicely with no failure whatsoever.

I attached a few picks; this short film is one of the first major projects that our camera and LocaRed is doing in France with an entire week of filming just with the Red.

Oh, I was just there, but back in London now. Looks like a good production. My crew and our Red will be spending some time in Paris, so if you're ever looking for a B-cam, we'll do our best to help you out.
