you can still window down to 3k res , thats pretty much 16mm-2/3rds inch , only thing missing is a lens , battle tested 18 to 50mm is under 3k , 16mm lenses are less , only thing you are really losing is a built in lense

I too am sad that the 8x fixed lens is gone. That camera for 7-8 grand was the butter zone for me. While scarlet-X is awesome, with accessories, couple starter lenses and taxes im looking at well over 15 grand.

Time to enter uber money saving mode - i will get a scarlet i swear it

Packages start at $9750. Big increase, but well worth the price. Especially considering that Canon's new cam is $16K and only shoots 1080p. I just wish the 120fps option was still available at 3K like originally planned, but RED still gives you the best bang for your buck.

I actually calculated and ended up on $13,890 everything apart, not the package (which is 14,015). Would mean the package is more expensive? Am i missing something?

    EDIT:
Scratch that, missed the charger. Costs the same.

    Package: 14,015
    No package: 9,750 (body+ssd) + $195 + $195 (redvolts) + $250,00 (REDMAG STATION) + $1,600 (touch LCD) + $950 (side handle) + $950 (64 GB REDMAG) + $125 (redvolt charger)

Which is great, as you won't miss out on any discount if you, for example, want a bigger redmag.

Canon has A 4K sensor, but only shoots 1080p, up to 30fps.
