Well, 3K for $3K was a nice dream while it lasted, all the way up to 4K for $6K or so. Congratulations, RED, for keeping my attention and having me check back here almost daily for three years.

I have only myself to blame for believing in price points that were apparently pulled out of thin air.

Keep up the great work. I'll be renting RED some day; probably never buying, however much I'd like to.

    Bye!

Not sure if this has been asked anywhere else, but will any of the scarlets be getting name plates like the other red cameras in the past? Love that :)

perfect!! any idea when this option will be available?

Also Jarred, I love seeing the assembly line pics! You should post more if you can.
I don't know if there would be a reason you can't or not haha.

I placed my order a little while ago. There is no feeling in the world like the one when you get an email confirmation that the camera that you have been waiting for a long time will soon come.

Thanks again to all the great people at Red for making a great set of cameras.

I was wondering if there would be an option for Scarlet-x owners to trade in for an Epic when we're ready (have the money).

This made sense for RED ONE. Doesn't for Scarlet, IMHO. I'd prefer RED expended its efforts in ramping up new feature work on things like REDCINE X, and so many other things that are necessary, than dealing with this logistical nightmare that'll simply eat up resources with no real value for RED.

Future Scarlet owners (includes me) can always sell their camera in the marketplace and upgrade to an EPIC.

There should be a menu option to manually enter lens info for "dumb mounts" or "dumb lenses," as the latest generations of DSLRs have.

Can't be super hard to implement and is, in my opinion, INCREDIBLY useful.

That would be a great feature Lee!! Can't believe that wasn't standard anyway with PL lenses. Used to log a Camera report by hand and later injest it in the digital file if needed. Would be super usefull... manual i-data :D

Has anyone heard anything from RED yet regarding their order? I'm concerned that since Thursday I haven't heard anything regarding my order. I did get an automated response that my order was processed, but that is all.

I called and they keep telling me Brian, my bomb squad rep will contact me, but nothing yet. Now the rep is telling me on the phone they have no knowledge of shipping dates, where I sit in the list, etc.

I know they have tons of orders, but the promise was from Jim in the roadmap that RED would not have anything announced that wasn't seriously ready to ship. I dropped my money down and don;t care about waiting, BUT I want some realistic estimate asap.

So can anyone state if they have knowledge about the realistic shipping dates of their Scarlet X's ??
