And thanks to everyone who was tweeting, I was frantically trying to connect to the red site but was saved when I saw a twitter post ... that lead me to many more!!! I like the way team Red shook things up last night! Huge contrast to the canon announcement

Luck not required. I wonder who spends 4 years on their ass waiting for promised technology to allow them to make art? They could have used a 5D or GH2 and been winning awards while waiting. There are several features and TV programs that were shot on low cost cameras by directors/dp's who seized the day. Oh hell, check out the short films being made on the iPhone 4 - some real talented ambitious people out there who are getting it done today.

I am proud to be a 300 Jim.

Thank You for a chance to battle along your side with my phone.

Their $10,000,000+ vs our 300 people, I'll take those odd any day now.

    Hehe

Looks like RED is now the weapon of choice for films makers large and small.

Scarlet is better than I can ever hope it will be.

Thanks to my Bomb Squad The Man Jason Dubb, he got my order in already.

The best customer service in the industry.

    :-)

    Thanks

    Michael Thornton

As soon as I found red.com was basically unusable I called the Bomb Squad (as suggested by PatC of Offhollywood)... and was told they were NOT taking orders by phone, I had to order through the RED Store - or else they would take my number and call me back in a couple of days. So I spent an hour wrestling with red.com getting my order in... and presumably went waaaaay back in the line from the people whose Bomb Squad reps DID take the order by phone. Not fair! That's not playing the game.

That's the reason why my Red serial is 1237 and not in the hundreds... I waited online to get my order in, finally gave up and spoke to someone else who placed my order thus pushing me to the end.

Guys, remember, our "normal" hours of operating ended the time the event began at RSH. The BOMB SQUAD was not at the studio, but at our Irvine HQ with the rest of the RED team here. We were waiting for specs and information to be posted on REDUSER on a projector - just like you. As soon as we got word that it looked like REDUSER and RED.com were being cyber-assaulted, we ran from the rest of the team, turned the phones back on, and started taking calls. Until we got more information, we were flying a little blind - BOMB SQUAD relies on RED.com for info, too. Within a few minutes, we were armed with info and taking orders.

We always encourage online purchasing as first option (so you can see accessories, agree to terms of sale, etc). If you placed an order online last night - but called first - email me a brent - at - red - dot - com with the phone number you called from. I will pull the time you called from our phone switch data and honor that as time of order placed.

Email me time you called based on your records as well so I can narrow my search of our records. Please only email if you called and were directed to RED.com before we knew we were getting attacked.

    I didn't ordered a SCARLET-X, but that doesn't mean I can't say:

YOU ARE GREAT BRENT! Always so resolutive!

That (the talent working at RED, like Brent) is what makes this a great company.

Sucks, when you hear other reps look after their customers.
Well said. OK, straw poll... if you called Bomb Squad last night, post and let us know... did they take your order by phone, or refuse and tell you to use website? There may be some wrongs to be righted here...

EDIT Brent you're a star! Already taking care of it. Thanks man.
