So all the threads , and packaging seem to be focused on Image, IMage quality, Image capture Media, and transferring to workstation......

    WHAT ABOUT AUDIO!??? lol

How will audio be captured on the scarlet? Does it have an onboard microphone (like DSLRs)?? or will it need an accessory cable? does the $14000 package come with the necessary cables to plug an xlr into??

Are their additional pieces, accessories that need to be purchased to get audio into the camera??

Will it be 2 channel or 4 channel audio??

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!?

No onboard microphone. Tech specs say that the audio is recorded in 2 channel, uncompressed, 24 bit, 48KHz.

I found these XLR adaptors from Fortis Cinema that I use on my Epic. The package i got lets me use full size XLR cables via fortis XLR cable adapters. The adapters can be mounted on the top and bottom plate. I bought mine from fortis cinema because they are well priced and I had been hearing great reviews about their products. They work great for me and and prevent anything from disconnecting.

I noticed this phenomena a few years ago when I purchased my first audio recorder and found it didn't have a little video recorder in it.

I dunno. $400 is a little high, but I have to admit, the plate looks snazzy.
