keep in mind that Epic (and presumably Scarlet) CURRENTLY CAN NOT PUSH OUT AN EDGE TO EDGE 1080 IMAGE. So if your client wants prores now, you will be delivering footage with black borders on some/all the edges of your footage. this makes any offboard recording as a new master dead in the water.
again, all current 5k resolutions are not 16x9 and the 4khd spits out 1080p but with a small black border around it.

this, of course is subject to change- one firmware update and this can go away. bring back 4k16x9 in addition to 4khd and I think problem will be solved.

Thanks Nate, I'm hoping both Red and Atomos will be listening to this thread as it will make the Scarlett-X a more achievable option for quite a few customers I suspect.

Or better yet, perhaps Red could add an option for internal recording format 1080p, 10 bit codec (such as pro res). Scaled, not crop of course. I, for one, would be ecstatic if they added this.

Once PLAYBACK is turned on in the EPIC... My multiple orders for the Samurai will be terminated. I may still get one or two for painful clients to play with... but really.? I think in camera PLAYBACK will suffice. It did with the REDONE, it will with the EPIC. ... And If I need to remember a shot, I video the playback screen using my Iphone. :)))

1080p unscaled 10bit or at least a workable atmos solution would be great to use the cam for more cases.
