Adobe's customer service is terrible, I would highly recommend RED create their on editing and coloring system in one, I would pay a lot of money for this system. Adobe is on my no-no list now, I will use it until something better comes out but I have never had such poor service in my life.
For the record, I have had great service from Adobe over the last number of years...

agree...we have a responsibility to use our gifts and talents to help get the word out...how selfish would we be if we don't make ourselves available to those in need. There is immense satisfaction when you allow your passion to take over and pay becomes non significant...

Tons of films are being shot on RED at NYU now. I would like to think I had something to do with that, strike that, I definitely had something to do with a lot of them. Lending gear, knowledge, and showing how workflow generally works has been the norm for the last little while at school. No time for partying, it's been homework, a Grant application completed, and now a scholarship and cinema gig at the school should they choose me.

Did I know there was going to be blow-back from using RED and causing the seas to part at NYU Grad and Undergrad... Maybe... Did I expect a direct attack on my character and years of study by 2 ASC (Arri loyalists), not to the extent of what happened. One Producer even chimed in. What was said I wont repeat because it would embarras them, there are plenty of other things I could say, but I think it best not to say anything. The film that was shown, which I shot, looked great, I shot that with a tumor right next to my main artery leading up to my brain, still waiting for surgery and I am not making excuses because again, the film looks great...

They don't understand RED tech, some don't want to. Yet the whole business is changing because of RED... So as of now, today, I don't lend my gear out to anyone at NYU for free, at a discount, and sometimes at all.

A Producer should frankly critique Producers, which, I wasn't. Also, everything they commented on didn't make much sense... I am talking about 95% of their comments.

The music video I shot for TV Carpio, is on par with anything I have seen lately save maybe the amazing LMFAO stuff which is amazing.

RED hate at NYU, tons directed solely at my, I was accused of being defensive and I said, I am not, I just don't 100% agree with anything that was said in that room. Try shooting in direct sunlight in Palm Beach on an F3 or Arri SR2 and get the images I got.

Signed, very politely, with a giant shaking head by me... Paul Ellington -- shame on you for letting people get in your heads.

I am proud of my second year film as well as the films for my peers at school. As I sit up and wade through the comments, trying to find some shred of truth, the only thing I can come up with is that there was an effort to take me a peg down which if that makes people in higher positions feel good so be it. I'm all for getting toughened up, but, this was more like a ( insert the worst possible beating story here ) in order to have some reason for not acknowledging the amount of work I have put into my craft. If this is because they don't want me to be a student who helps in the cine department... My feeling is this, two fold, first is their loss because nobody works harder than me, and second, you meet the same people going both ways. No credit given for being on time, or I should say just enough was given but had I missed classes due to drunken nights well you better not be part anything and miss any time or homework - a lesson my father taught me long ago.

I am reverting to the old me, the me that took care of my mother when she was sued by my siblings, the person who's more driven than anyone on the planet when pissed. I just threw up a few nods I got from festivals from around the US in screenwriting because I like to do a little of that from time to time.

We have a meeting with the Chair on Thursday. For my part some of the comments I got from a particular instructor who woke up on the wrong side of the bed is just shameful. I worked my behind off, kept surgery for the tumor in my head away so I could finish the films on my slate and he said things I wont repeat on REDUser but I would gladly show the film "Between Sins" to anyone here, it's a great film.
