So, whats the skinny on stills?
The MX chip performs better than most of canon's DSLR's so im probably gonna ditch my DSLR and shoot most of my stills on Scarlet.
Is the Stills mode active when it arrives or is that not yet perfected?

A bit...
There´re some post about stills, but it seems that there´s not enough interest.
For me, two topics are the most important (nobody replied yet):
1. is RED RAW really better, as a starting point, to use and abuse (I mean a lot of composite modes, filters, layered clips, etc.) than compressed H.264?
2. the still mode will be equal or better than my 5DMII stills?
If the answers are YES for both questions, my 5DMII is for sale. I´ll only keep my Canon and Zeiss glass.
Thanks
I've pulled in a nice chunk of money in 2011 shooting stills, all of it with strobes. Sadly the red's can't trigger strobes
No?? So all those fashion covers are lit with video lights? So, shoot a 5K video and choose the best stills it out of it? I can see advantages for kid's photography (to capture THE moment), but like you, I used my light setup a lot this year. I guess I should have expected this if Scarlet-X has no shoe-mount...this sucks.
Anyone know if RED has stated anything about triggering strobes in the future?
the conversation was a while ago and its hard to locate the threads again, here's one of them
