God damn but I'm taking a shine to you Mr Beadle!

It's a great post. Your posts always tend to be such an easy and enjoyable read, but more importantly, I think this is exactly what is needed with the onset of Scarlet and certainly it is in my regard.

I'm willing to work very hard and learn from anyone. But the issue is the time spent trying to learn what you need to know when compounded by - you don't know what you don't know - which makes the suggestion of something linear and comprehensive very desirable.

If there is something like this already coming out. FANTASTIC. When REDucation is next announced for Australia. I'm there with bells on.
But a guide like this besides being extremely useful to many many thousands of people... would undoubtedly help preserve the sanity of many an experienced REDuser from the new "RED yoof" like myself clogging up the joint with my equivalent posts of
"errmmm... does the battery go into the side handle with the + up or the little minus thingy?"

My only thought would be that along with Dan kanes and Brad Allen, I know REDuser Zac C was intending some tutorials so perhaps he might be interested.

Thanks for your efforts Josh. Wishing you every success mate.

    Best Wishes
    Lliam

Thanks for also taking a hard line with your wants and needs. They are not just desired by you, this would help out a bunch of us. More time creating, less time bugged eyed on the computer. This reward challenge should be tackled. Who's got the balls to get it done? I'd be happy to send some paypal donations your way.

If you want to debate with Josh about his methods of avoiding the trial and error period, please be respectful of his request and this thread. Yes we've all done it, we've learned through trial and error but we don't need to be hazed with every new software release.

    Looking forward to the training.

I can start doing full on scarlet/epic workflow and camera workshops. Also, I'm a very nice Guy in person even if I seem like a dick on The Internet sometimes.

    Cheers, friends.

    Hey Guys,

I've posted this on another thread, but thought i would also post here: My name is Jay A kelley, and I am the creator of the RED101 DVD. Many people have been asking about this so I will answer now: We are currently working on a new course:
    RED102: EPIC and SCARLET

In short these will be tutorial videos online that go over the ins and outs of the EPIC camera as well as it's most popular accessories. Now this does not replace a hands on class in my opinion, but it should be good for those of you looking for tutorials. Just stay tuned and we'll have more to say in a week or so.

Yeah thanks josh. You inspired me to post. As for the tutorials, well those were started 4 months ago, we've also got some great training vids on gear like Dana dolly and stuff from x. I was just holding off until it is closer to launch time.
