If an order is placed, unless we hear otherwise - that is your order and the one we will process. If you want to add accessories or whatever, you place an additional order. We ship items as they become available. So, if you cancel something and order a new, that new one is the ordered timestamp of that item. This is pretty standard direct sales stuff. Frankly, RED was too complicated in how we handled order fulfillment in the past so we are trying to streamline and evolve to meet this large influx of orders and new customers. Trust me, us maturing is a good thing :)

PS, do not confuse "maturing" with "sanity". We are still nucking futs.

Sorry to be a pain but I really don't want to fall to the back opt the line because I misunderstood the process.
Timestamp is based on the item itself. Delete something, no worries. Does not affect rest of items.

Thanks for your patience, Brent. Order has been changed! Now, the wait continues...

    Brent

I know the official word is that when our camera comes in we will be contacted, but...

What is the overall status of orders vs expected fullfillment?

If you ordered the first day how long could the wait be? Approx? Cmon man, throw us all a bone. lol

Thanks for all that clarification Brent. That is very useful.

All the items that I want to have with my Scarlet but did not place in my original pre-order on Nov 3rd were ones that were "in stock" and not backordered such as SSDs. I didn't want to buy a bunch of SSDs on Nov 3rd when I wasnt even sure if or when my pre-order for the Scarlet body and backorder for the Redmote would be filled, nor did I want to buy any batteries since Scarlet's power specs still haven't even been released yet. If all the items I want are "In stock" they should ship immediately anyway if I order them as soon as I get notification of my Scarlet pre-order being ready, right? There is no reason there would be a line to wait in for items that are in stock and not backordered or pre-order-only, right?

It didn't make sense to me to place an order for in stock accessories that would ship immediately when I wont have the camera for at least a month, and it made the most sense to wait and decide about batteries and media as late as possible when I'll know more about the camera specs and user reports and 3rd party options since it wouldn't seem to affect my ability to buy them without waiting later anyway since they are all in stock.

Bingo. if you ordered early, we'd fulfill items for your brain - and you'd be waiting on your brain.
