They are priced no differently. But I was told by a Bomb Squad Rep they will not do it without essentially removing the entire order and starting over with a new one. That is my understanding of how they are dealing with the packages. I would like to be wrong.
I did what you want to do and the order had to be cancelled. This means I went from wherever I was in the long line of buys Nov 3 (which originally included me), to wherever I am now, on November 16....hopefully I will see the camera this year, but I haven't had confirmation on that yet. It made a lot of sense to buy the 4 pack of redvolts and the 4 pack of SSD's...so I did it. Sure, I might have to wait longer but I feel like I made a better choice in the end. I also got an extra charger too.

I'm surprised so many people went with the kits, was there some benefit to ordering the kit that I'm not aware of? I'd think anyone going with redvolts would want to buy multiple 4packs for the discount since you'd likely need 10-20 of them to get through a day.

We presented two options. Some people like a package that is put together for them so they don't have to overthink an order. One button, add to cart, move on. Others prefer the flexibility to order item by item. There is no price difference between the package price and the sum of the parts in the package. If you wanted the package as-is, go for it. If you wanted to have something more specialized, a la carte was there for you. Simply two different options depending on how you prefer to purchase.

A package is the "parent" while the individual parts under it are the "children". The package is the part number that is purchased (if you chose that route). In order to fulfill each piece, the children of the parent are displayed so you see what is in the package in your order. The contents of a package cannot be altered. If you want something different than package as-is, just order a la carte. That is why we presented both options and allowed you to choose which route made most sense for you.

Now I am a tad confused - should we change the Canon to PL mount ourself as well? If so how do you do that - maybe I am not looking in the right place but I can´t seem to change anything?!?!

The benefit to the kit was that we had very little information on November 3 and no time to figure out how long a battery lasts, how many minutes a 64GB card holds etc etc... and if we had tried to add more than one product to our cart with the crashing server it would have taken 10 hours and been last in line. It was an ordeal to get one item in my cart and check out let alone 8.

So now for instance that I've had more than 45 minutes to figure out what I need I've decided I need a little more. :D But if it can't be changed it can't be changed, such is life. Maybe I need 6 batteries anyway... How long does a Redvolt last in a Scarlet? We still don't know so I still don't really know how many I need.

Side handle and redvolts seem like they'd be a very elegant solution for a camera with 5-20w power consumption, but I couldn't justify it for the $1k price of the handle and the proprietary batteries that are 2-3x the price of pro batteries in terms of $/Wh, especially when there are no released power specs for Scarlet yet but the indication is that if it's close to Epic's >60W, I'd need 10-20 REDVOLTs to get through a day.

I only ordered a redmote since its functionality and price made it seem like the way to go if I were to choose one method to control my camera. In the Epic forums, I'm hearing very good things about redmote with the newest firmware as being the best way to control the camera, and it doesn't hurt that it's also the cheapest ($550 compared to $950 handle or $1600 touchscreen).
But you will need the Side Handle or a DSMC power module to power the scarlet, not just the redmote.

Ok I've got a problem here then. Brent, you responded to my email and said to submit my order change request on the website with the link you gave me. I did that immediately and still haven't heard anything at all. My order change includes changing from the PL to the Canon mount. If I'm to understand all this, since I haven't heard anything I have to assume my order hasn't been changed yet, which means I'm still not really in the queue, even though I actually have an order in and the only difference in the brain is the mount. So in this case I'm not actually in line for anything since I know I need to make a change to my order and I can't do it online. How can I get some kind of confirmation of this and my other changes? I know you guys are probably overwhelmed, but I don't want to stay in the dark and without a place in line. Should I just place a whole new order online and wait to be contacted?

This was not disclaimed in any way, anywhere, on your website prior to purchase. There's no price difference in individual items in a "package" as you call it. The "package" does not even exsist. These components are sitting in different boxes or haven't even been manufactured yet. Your company provides very little information about the function of these components. I've learned virtually everything from other users in this forum. For these reasons alone, this policy of not allowing modification to a simple list of parts which probably cannot even be delivered together anyway, is ridiculous, and seems driven by some other motive. Is removing or changing a particular item really so technically challenging? It is nonsensical and poor customer policy.

Nope. You can also get the B2-to-B1 cable and use the Red v-mount plates with v-mount batts.

Hope everything will be cleared out because it looks like a real mess ... :(
A lot of people had to order the PL Brain because it was the only product available with the Canon Package the first minutes Nov 3rd and now they have to changed their line in the row because they have to order
product by product in order to make a package or order the PL Package that appeared later
