I was interested in exactly how different some of my lenses were in real world comparisons. I lit a scene that might come up in my line of work, and swapped out a bunch of different lenses. The results were that I liked them all.

Yes, I know, I focused a couple inches deeper or shallower on a couple lenses, if I had it to do over again I would have done it a little differently, but it was mainly general comparison, not scientific.

Well that's no fun. Can I attach pictures larger? How does Sanjin load a still the size of Austria?http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/9797/lens1.png

    So... what lenses are these?

If you upload the images to a server and embedd them here, you can have them bigger. They will be scaled down for preview in the forum, but people can right-click and choose "show image" and get to see them fullsize...

People seem to use imageshack quite a bit...

If I get a minute I'll try to figure out how to post larger images. They look quite nice big.

    Lens 1 50mm lomo standard speed 1990
Lens 2 lomo (really MKBK but everyone calls them lomos) 50mm super speed
    lens 3 Canon k35 55mm
    lens 4 Ekran/elite 25-80 zoom at 50mm
lens 4 50mm lomo square front anamorphic

I know from previous shoots and experiments that the lomo speeds are very very similar to ziess speeds, the k-35 is a little warmer. But over all I think it remarkable how similar they look. You could certainly make them match perfectly in post.

I almost recognized the Canon :) I think that one outperformed the others by far. The DOF is so much nicer with the perfectly round blurred highlights
I Actually have that exact lens. Canon K35 55mm with BNC-R mount for sale if anyone is interested.
