I must be one of the few folks who record sound into their Epic and need it in post. I was patiently waiting for the latest version of MC to move back to AVID, but for those who need it, there is still no Audio in Red EPIC files when brought in via AMA. So outside of Smoke, there are no NLE's on mac that can edit natively and have audio enabled...

Mac? Windows? I asked whether this worked during the beta stage and was told it did. Are these DRx clips?

I was told it was not working in the Beta. Haven't installed the update yet, but if true this is very disappointing.

I have downloaded MC6 and the latest AMA plugin for Mac 1.6 and the audio is not playing back. I just get a hiss. the audio plays fine in Rex and transcoded to other codecs. Major bummer for us as we are looking for a native solution

If it's in the SDK, it will find its way into MC. Funny, all the Epic footage I have is double system, otherwise I would do some testing.

Can anyone post a short R3D file that has audio and I can test it for you?

This is true. Audio via AMA does not work. I made Avid aware of this several weeks ago but there were many things ahead of this bug to deal with prior to the RC getting out.

AMA will be really quite fantastic once they figure this out and allow us to play with the B track for HDRx. For now however I am processing in RCXPro and exporting to Avid and bringing in via Media Tool. That way you do get your sound and can do that preliminary grade.
