This has probably been suggested before, but to be honest I find the search function on Reduser to work really poorly, so I haven't been able to find it.

If it hasn't been requestet before, I think it would be great if Red could make some kind of a media player like VLC that plays the R3D files without having to open Redcine-X every time you're looking for a clip. I know Redcine-X is free and it takes like 2 seconds to open the program, but the interface don't invite to the best and quickest overview as I see it. Perhaps it is too much work, but I know I would make great use of it.

Check out pdplayer. Very nice stable playback, use it in our Animation pipeline. And it supports red. Fast opening, integrated timeline, ram caching, basic color, luts, apply modes, etc.

Pdplayer 1.0.5 doesn't play Epic R3D files, but the upcoming 1.0.6 will.

Just downloaded the Redcine-X Pro 64bit and it came with a Red Player program. Is this a new program?
