NFL SPORTS> .... thats what.
Watching these reviews, when they zoom in on the ball on the grass at 1080P... its soft and out of focus weak ass shit.
HOW LONG UNTIL NFL NETWORK SHOOTS 4K BROADCAST? (not shouting cap locks, sorry)

come to think of it... ALL SPORTS need to be shot in glorious 5K resolution for 4K Delivery... Olympics, Soccer, etc etc..
So who is on that? I know I am.
I'm not a sports fan, and I HATE football. So I have to respectfully disagree with you, lol. But all joking aside I'm sure that NFL films has some RED ONE's or EPICS that they shoot for Docs, Promos, and Highlight reels. I know they also have 35mm film cameras that they shoot that stuff with.
When I watch (real) football I don't give a damn if it's 567p, 1080p or 5K because I'm enjoying the game too much to care about the quality. The game is so much more important than the quality.
I've thought for a while the a great use of 4K+ would be if we had a playback format that allowed for zooming. So 5K capture. View it in 1080P (or 4k) and be able to zoom in on demand. That would be great for sports. Football, golf, tennis, racing, cheerleaders.
Maybe that's 10 years away.. or maybe broadcasters build the ability for themselves. That would be a very cool way to differentiate.
Haven't you seen the many 360 videos on internet where you can move and zoom the camera? That technology is already here and in use but it might take a while for it to get used in live TV. It would be cool for re-checking goals and other special situations, but there are so many camera angles these days that it would be pointless in most cases. The directors are usually doing fine job.
This was one of the first to appear (around 2 years old): http://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2...360/index.html

I want to see Usain Bolt break the 100, 200 and 400 meter world records in glorious 5K 96fps.
X Games.
I would get a 4k sports package in a heart-beat. Give a great live crew a 120fps feed and BAM!! Man... that give the sickest re-plays ever.
