    Very interesting article from Ken Rockwell's website (thanks!). What he says about photography applies for cinematography as well.

    So, stop worrying so much about your lens gear and start making some films...

    I do get the point you're making, but try and shoot Zeiss Super Speeds wide open and tell me lens sharpness isn't an issue. The reality is that still photographers can use a longer shutter speed when they need more exposure, whereas filmmakers are essentially locked in at 1/48th of a second. Lens sharpness at low apertures is going to be an issue for us until sensors can see in the dark.

    that's just opinion of one guy which does not necessarily apply to all types of photography and certainly not to cinematography...try take one of those with a soft or slow lens

    I do not think Ken makes 40' prints, if he did I am he would be more concerned with sharpness. Comparing 8 x 10 prints with feature film projection is ............? I am at a loss for words.
