  1. #1 Still Falls the Rain - Red Epic short film, VFX heavy
    Hey guys!

I haven't really posted on here, despite lurking during the months leading up to the shoot of my graduation short film, Still Falls the Rain. My name's Miguel, and I'm a London-based award-winning filmmaker and VFX artist.

The film stars Ben Walker (who played Roger in The Golden Compass), and script consultants include Erik Bork (Co-writer of Band of Brothers). It's about a homeless teenage boy, who gets caught stealing food from a bombed house.

It's set in London during WW2, my degree is in VFX - I've recently worked at MPC during the summer, on Clash of the Titans 2, so it'll feature plenty of greenscreen stuff, set extensions and matte paintings in order to digitally age London.

    A couple of screenshots:

It was shot on the Red Epic, almost entirely shoulder-mounted, and with Arri Ultraprime lenses. Shot on 2 days on location in London.

Please head on over to the BLOG, or to the FACEBOOK page. I'll be releasing the first behind-the-scenes video this week : )

It's due to be finished around May 2012, so keep an eye out for updates!

    Thanks for dropping by,
    Miguel

Sounds pretty cool, very nice poster by the way, looking forward to seeing more!

But I do have to say, that greenscreen shot looks a little troublesome, the screen's all wrinkly.

Thanks for all the comments guys, appreciated : )

Just posting the first Behind the Scenes video. Contains a little Location Scouting at the start, but it's mainly footage from the set on Day 1.
