To start I have very little experience with projecting footage. I’m starting to move into bigger markets and have run into a bit of a snag.

I am testing some footage at a local theatre and the manager told me that I need to have a “DCI compliant hard drive” for it to work. I’m assuming he is not a tech guy and actually meant DCI compliant footage. I’m trying to get the make and model of the projector and will post it as soon as I get the information.

The footage was shot RED ONE 4.5k and now sits in 2048x854 Pro Res 4444. What do I need to do to get this to project? Cineform?

I know there are plenty of big dogs on here that will instantly know. So many thanks in advance.

Ok as an update the projector is a Barco DP 3000. The projection will be fairly on a fairly small screen as far as theaters go.

Actually, your hard drive will need to be formatted correctly AND your footage will need to be in a compliant DCP form to playback. There is quite a bit more to it than just supplying a file on a drive. There is a long thread regarding DCP authoring on here, but sufficive to say it's quite a bit more work from where you are at now to get a set up going that will work. i'll let those who have done this chime in.

I’ve been doing a lot of research. Has anyone had any experience using this plug in: http://www.qubecinema.com/products/Xport

It seems like it might be a good alternative to doing it the traditional way.
