I deeply respect forum rules and etiquette. I try to apply by them, with my best intentions.
I’d therefor would like to clarify a few things and in the process, make sure I clear my name and hopefully resolve this matter. As I’m a responsible member of this community and fanatic spokesman for RED cameras out in the real world. I own 5 Epic’s and 2 RED ONE’s and love every ounce of these cameras.
My thread about a complete camera accessory solution we call TITAN Lite was deleted without warning. I do understand that when advertising products. You’re supposed to be a sponsor for this forum.
I want to voice that I did go through the channels, asking for sponsorship, several times, to no reply. I also want to say that this is also regarding a product that doesn’t even exist yet. We were not actually selling it. Or trying, for that matter, to take any orders yet. We haven’t even announced any prices. We were simply showing something that we’ve designed., firstly for ourselves. Then at later state. We realized that this is probably to good to keep for ourselves. That we should maybe share that design. As it’s actually a quite clever solutions. Or in a lot of ways, very clever. That’s when we went on reduser.
Now according to forum rules does this make me a spammer? Well I’ve been a member, since day one, on this forum. I’ve tried to contribute, as responsibly as I can. I did approach administrators/ moderators about sponsorship. When asked by moderators if I had started to apply for sponsorship. I immediately replied them back. Letting them know that I had. I also asked for useful information in how to go about with this. I was in no way trying to avoid or hide from this. I’ve never even got to speak to the right contact about sponsorship. As my requests where never ever replied to? All of them? The thread was just shut down, without any form of contact, what so ever. No resolving conversation. No explanation?
Am I just the average Joe suddenly appearing on this forum, trying to make a quick buck? No I’m a well known member in this community. Award winning, both as a DOP and as a Director. Working on a global scale. I own 3 Production Companies, 1 service company and a small camera rental. I have a name and reputation to think of and is definitely not a scam artist. As I’ve already said. We were not even trying to start any orders. As the product doesn’t physically exist yet. We made it specifically clear. That if we were to take orders. It was only when we were actually ready for it.
So I’m writing this to make sure that it’s crystal clear that I had all intentions in doing things the right way. That we and our products are in everyway legit. That we’re willing and have tried to go about this in the right way. That I would love to be able to share our camera solutions with fellow redusers if allowed, as we haven’t just designed some junk from the scrap yard. I think that what we’ve so far shown. Clearly indicates, that this is very cleverly designed, high end equipment, for the Pro user.
In saying so... I respect that, for whatever reason, I will not be allowed to share our designs on this forum. Although it’s supposedly, to my knowledge, an independly run forum. I’m sad that we haven’t been given the chance to show more of our solutions and would very much want to do so, if given the chance. Although, I guess we should be glad that we didn’t get to announce more. As we probably would have revealed to much of our solutions, which would have been... well not very clever. If we’re not able to be a part of this community.
What I don’t appreciate is the silence. No contact or effort has been made at all. Just silence, but I guess that in this case.... maybe - silence speaks louder than words :)
