    Hi Oliver!

The glass was PL mount - Angenieux 17-80mm T2.2 and 25-250mm HR T3.5 (I could be off on the specific T stop).

    Cheers from Tokyo mate!

Awesome job Paul! In 1:42-1:45 to me it screamed for a timelapse moment.

Would love to see how you set up the Epic to follow it on the course.

For a speed freak like me, it was an absolute blast to see and help film this supercar up close and personal!

All the slomo stuff was shot with my Epic-X at 120fps 4K and 240fps 2K, by DP Nobuhiro Hiramatsu. I provided DIT services and first color correction in RedCine-X Pro, build 7.

    Enjoy!

    Cheers from Tokyo,

    Paul :)

Here's a few photos taken with my phone of the camera setup, the camera car and one taken from inside the camera car for the still photo run:

I really hope I get more of these types of jobs!! :D

I've been a speed freak from way back and these days it's really hard to get back to the kind of adrenalin rush I used to get bashing around the skies (and getting PAID to do so!!)....

    Cheers from Tokyo!

Great work! It's a bummer that they took what could've been an amazing production car and put a NA 197hp engine in it... :(

Agreed. This could e a fantastic, rear wheel drive "impreza". But I'm sure later on there will be an STI version with 280 BHP.

    Paul that's some great grading!

Love it! On what system did you grade this on?

It's a Nissan Stagea with a modified 370Z engine in it (I think), not a Volvo.

Hard to see but there's a rail rig holding him in place along with safety harnesses. All very secure!

    Cheers,

    Paul :)

Jeff, I only did first light color grading in RedCine-X PRO build 7 (with Alchemy and Clarity as well). I didn't do the final color grade as only the high speed stuff was shot on my camera and the overall project was not in my hands. But looking at my copy of the footage and the on set grade I did, the only changes made seem to be that they pulled out all the green from the images and left the rest intact, which makes me happy (and validates RedCine-X PRO as a serious color grading option!).

If Red can add in six color adjustment sliders (like Photoshop's Secondary Color function) there will be no stopping it!

    Cheers from Tokyo,

    Paul :)
