By the way I noticed something a little interesting on the list. Someone was allocated on the 13th and is physically picking it up on the 23rd. That means even if you had overnight shipping it wouldn't have come until the 24th. That means a 10 day about lead time from allocation to delivery. So seeing as non-event, non-press Al mounts aren't going out... now. It's already past Christmas. And since I hope RED isn't working their elves Christmas Eve/Christmas. Realistically we're 5 days out from New Years too.

Or, maybe 200 AL scarlets will go out tomorrow. :D

I'm flying to L.A. from Toronto to pick it up. There was no way it would get to us before we leave on a shoot Boxing Day (Dec 26 for our American cousins) that will be 2 weeks in Japan, then we hit other production pretty hard when we return to T.O.

Before everyone jumps on me about relying on an untested cam for production - I'll be brining it to the shoot in Japan, but it won't be the primary camera. It'll be a time where I can play with it on my days off and test it out while shoot Japanese YouTube cat videos in glorious 4K!

At this point all I want to know is, if we ordered in the first hour if we'll still see our Scarlet before Christmas?

The problem with this and Jarred comments of being "pretty likely" to get a scarlet before christmas if you ordered in the first hour is that I don't think many actually got an order in online in that first hour. By the list 4 people managed too. All this sadness is making me want to put a deposit on an epic.

I'm very confused...some non events have it, events don't...

I get the whole 'feed the press' kind of thing but didn't event go-ers deserve it even before the press? Which then leads to the non event orders for al that have gone out or going out who aren't press...

Anyway its just confusing how the stuff is going out but as long as its going out thats a good thing right? The thing is though, people speculated mount being the problem but if 2 Als in the last week went out, Cinema5D and Glen's...it can't be an issue...

AAAHHH!!! That backorder update can't come soon enough...

I'm a little confused on that as well. I mean I'm very happy and excited for those getting there cameras but I thought it was stated event goers then by timestamp... if going by that, in that instance it didn't follow it. I'm happy to see more reviews and read more on it but I guess the shipment is more random than we thought. It would be reassuring to hear something more than "I can't make an estimate at this time".
