SO 2401 is my camera with serial number 1456 and has been delivered. That is the highest known shipped SO number. Brian has an earlier SO # than me, but has the latest known SERIAL number of 1465. And no need to shout.

Suit yourself - but serial numbers don't tell you anything as it relates to your SALES ORDER number. You already know your sales order number but you are not going to know your serial number until RED contacts you to ship your camera. So what, exactly, does the highest serial number shipped tell you about your order?

Personally, I think that there is currently no relationship at all between sales order numbers and camera serial numbers. I do believe, however, that if RED sends out a camera with a serial numbere of #1465, then I have to assume that there have been 1,465 Scarlets manufactured as of now.

Pourquoi êtes-vous tellement obsédé par les numéros de série?

En outre, éviter de taper tout en majuscules.

Having Google translate those into English kinda took out the sense of wonder, lol.

I have to admit, this has become a laughable discussion. Whether or not there is a relationship between camera serial numbers and SO numbers is pretty irrelevant. What is obvious is that SO numbers have something to do with the order of shipping - with the exception that Ti mounts, Canon and PL, are each on their own schedule. Even those, however, have an order - lower numbers in each group typically ship before higher numbers.

If one chooses not to take any predictive value from noting this pattern, so be it. It doesn't change the pattern, however.

Well - 1457 arrived in Tokyo (SO 1251). It is not as much about the number as it is about the delivery. Historically RED has prioritized upgrade programs based on the cam delivery. We (Canon Ti Mounters - for lack of a better word) have already "suffered" for two months watching people who ordered after us getting deliveries of their cameras. While the wait was worth it (The Ti mount looks like it will outlast the camera), I certainly don't want to be pushed back for any future upgrade programs just because I have taken delivery of the camera only now (regardless of having ordered it right away on the 3rd and paid in full) because of the Ti mount delay...

I hope you can understand that...

    Hello,
Forget about SO numbers it stands for any cameras or accessories as you can see below. So if you have freaks like me who ordered all in pieces aver 3 months, it won't give you much info.
We're better off giving the dates of our orders.
I phoned Red Europe today and asked that since I ordered in november (I didn't give the exact date) what would be an estimation date for delivery. They said to me that I would need to wait 3 more months...
That's exactly what was said to me at the end of December.

    I've ordererd :
Scarlet, Canon brain ordered on November 11, 2011 Sales Order - SO-0053753
    Redmote ordered November 24, 2011 Sales Order - SO-0055164
    Red touch Order Placed - December 30, 2011 Sales Order - SO-0058733
    Battery belt Order Placed - February 11, 2012 Sales Order - SO-0062796
