I wish, not enough change sitting around. I emailed my rep to see if I ordered a PL if it would go out quicker due to them pushing through PL orders outside of the 300, while we're still waiting to hear about the Canon's inside the 300. I have a bunch of Canon glass but I could sell it to pickup the 18-85, and look at getting Canon glass at a later point in time. I'm just missing alot of work/opportunities as I wait. I hope mine would be within the month, much past January and I'd have to buy another camera to shoot with til the Scarlet got here, which I don't have money for.

Ah, gotcha. The 18-85 is a huge lens, so you'd need rods and a lens support as well. I was debating between that and the 17-50, and the 17-50 seems like it will be much more suited for my work. Also, thinking of getting the 300mm down the line. I've got 3 Zeiss ZF.2 lenses which I use with an EOS adapter, that's why I went for the Canon. I plan on selling those for the 17-50 and getting some Canon glass for photography, so I guess I will use both mounts over time.

    Nice,

I've seen the 18-85 used without support. I'd get support. The 17-50 would work as well, then get a prime or two. I'm just waiting to here from my rep, I'll probably stay the course, as it's probably the faster route.

I've seen that too, but I don't think I would do it, haha! I would love to get a prime or two over time, but the costs just keep piling up. I've gotta get more media and batteries first. Right now I've only ordered the kit plus an outrigger handle.

Haven't heard anything. I don't want to bother them to much, just want to see the possibility, I doubt it at this point in time since we're in December already, but thought it's worth looking into. With what I shoot (skiing, surfing, and personal work) renting a camera is outside my budget, as is renting equipment outside of lenses. Locations make it difficult to rent as well. We're starting to get into ski season so If I can get a camera faster (which I doubt as I'd move REALLY far down the list, and don't want to cut or jump anyone when it comes to the Canon's if PL are moving out the door and can ship before Canon) it makes sense.

Like I said, I know patience is huge, and I'm sure everyone is waiting and anxious and is losing or wanting to keep work while waiting for shipment. I'm willing to wait and be patient, but I am curious to see if the Canon mounts are in short supply if PL's are not and shipping quicker, it makes sense to switch in my eyes. I didn't really think about it when the order process started. I figured they'd be going out at about the same pace. It's really hard to know how fast they're going out but it appears PL is moving faster (probably less orders).

I need to learn patience. Extra Fortune cookie anyone?

Jared said that if you ordered in the first hour, you a "very" likely to see your camera before Christmas. I'll wait until the 26th to send my rep another e-mail :p

If you were to change the order to a PL mount, you would be placed in the back of the line, so I would just stick with the Canon mount. You've got a low SO number so you shouldn't have to wait much longer!
