I just received some rather alarming news that as of now Epic has no time-lapse features and after speaking to a rep from Red, there is no certain reports that a useable intervelometer will be developed. I am sure that I am not the only who finds this troubling since a good bit of my income is earned through my time-lapse work. If this is the case I would be much better off sticking with the ONE MX-- something I had not even began to consider since the Epic was announced.

Can somebody with some muscle at Red please detail us concerned time-lapse shooters with a straight forward answer to this concern?

Epic can currently do up to 1sec shutter. We're working on adding longer shutter times (not trivial) and well as longer than 1 fps intervals.

With an external shutter pulse you can also drive arbitrarily long intervals (not shutter times).

    Thanks Deanan,

I can totally understand how time-exposures can be difficult and can probably live without. However, intervals of 1 sec. + and doing so with the ease of the Red ONE is something that many of us will greatly appreciate. Can you at least assure us that intervals are something we can count on in the future?

Deanan, you just made my day. I owe you a cold brewski.

    Thanks Deanan,

I've used my RED ONE MX for hundreds of timelapse shots. I've now used my EPIC X for about a dozen or so in the first week that I've had it. Great to know there will be even better time lapse options in the future!

    Thanks again!

BTW @Joe - some really great work. Look forward to seeing it continue on EPIC! :)
