The Digital Cinema Society has a couple of Los Angeles area events which may be of interest to the REDuser community: "Migrating From Final Cut 7" on Monday night 12/12 at Key Code Media in Burbank, and New Lighting Technology on Saturday 12/17 at Laurel Canyon Stages in Arleta. Migrating From Final Cut Pro 7 at Key Code Media, Burbank - Monday, December 12th

With the phasing out of the popular NLE, FCP 7, Final Cut users will need to migrate to a new platform. Many choices abound, including the new Final Cut X, Avid Media Composer, or Adobe’s Premiere Pro. We intend to explore these options in depth with experts from Adobe, Avid, and Apple. Join us on the evening of

Monday, December 12th, from 7-9:30PM at Key Code Media in Burbank.

There will also be a raffle with thousands of dollars worth of software including Avid Media Composer 6, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium, and more. Annual DCS New Lighting Technology Event -- Saturday, December 17th at Laurel Canyon Stages


The Digital Cinema Society will again gather cutting edge manufacturers and prominent Cinematographers for an exploration of New Motion Picture Lighting Technology. Representatives from Litepanels, Kinoflo, ARRI, Nila, K5600, and Rosco LitePads will show off their latest wares. Prominent Cinematographers, including Roberto Schaefer, ASC, and others (pending confirmation,) will also be on hand to show us how they utilize some of these instruments in their work.
