Just pulled this from the newest Redcine Pro Build 8
Noise is everywhere on the jacket. Mostly all blue channel. His Jacket is dark, but as you can see, there is plenty of light. I shouldn't be having this problem.

The noise on his jacket dances around like crazy!! Can't deliver this to my client.
That jpg doesn't tell me much...
1 sec of r3d would tell me a lot.
What ISO/Kelvin is that?
What are your development settings?
How did you grade it?
THAT would tell me a bit more
Cheers!

i've experienced the same results shooting on the Scarlet last night.
i had to over-expose in camera and bring back down the exposure in post.
but i'm thinking maybe a plug-in is needed to deal with this type of noise.
let me know what you find good sir.
But this image frankly looks quite underexposed...
That's why an r3d - even single frame, would be of great help...
that could be the case. when i look at the white shirt, it could be around + 2 stops.
What exactly do you mean by "overexosing in camera" ?
Cheers

It means he's shooting it as if his ISO 200. I thought about doing that, too. But then I realized I just paid $40 grand for a camera that claimed to shoot at ISO 800. I stood in denial. :-)
could be a combination of factors - tungsten, underexposed, not applying a curve when in RedlogFilm... etc
or it is a debayer setting issue, - redrocket is more noisy than a fulldebayer software version. Halfres good is waay more noisy for instance than other full settings.... etc
Edit: the blue channel noise is evident of tungsten underexposed, remember you are already 2 stops under on the blue channel when you white balance to tungsten light on a silicon Cmos sensor camera. - so if you are a couple of stops under and raise the exposure in post, you have to add 2 whole stops to the blue, which at some point ofcourse will introduce noise.
I had the same issue and it was because of under exposure.
