First of all, thanks for sharing these with us! It's awesome for us who are awaiting their Scarlets :) As for the red circles, like others have said, this is not a 'problem' with the sensor at all. It happens on any (digital) camera. I've seen the exact same thing with my 5DII. It's totally normal and nothing to worry about. To avoid it, just don't shoot directly into the sun (or a laser).
Finally, I hate to sound negative, but does anyone else think that these images are incredibly soft? Is it just the vintage lenses? Take the first wide shot or even the cat for example. At 100% full quality, it's soft as hell!
It could be that focus is set nearer than anything visible in the scene. But looking at the other r3d's it looks like the Lomo Vintage Lens used might be soft.
Yeah, these lenses are definitely softer than modern lenses. I still may have blown the focus on a couple of these. These lenses are kind of whacky. I'm still getting the hang of them. One other problem I've had with day exteriors is I can't stop the lens down enough to prevent overexposure. They only go to f16. I'm going to need to get a mattebox and some ND.
I'm about to post another test. This time 5k and not overexposed.
Bear with me guys. I'm just starting to learn this camera and especially these lenses...

The lomo okc 3-22-1 is reallyt a great lens. Very snappy. If you have an earlier version (lower number in front the 3 is 3rd generation, 22 is focal length-1 is design version of that generation) it would be softer. looks nice ;-)
