Unable to update RedCineX Pro ?

I'm currently on version 2 and would like to upgrade to version 8.
I'm greeted with "a new version is avail, would you like to update"; when I click "install and restart" the installation process looks normal but when I open RedCineX Pro it's still version 2 (at which point I'm greeted with the " a new version is avail..." .
Never ending cycle.

There was in issue with early Pro builds that would cause auto update to act incorrectly. Please download Build 8 directly.

Should I delete RedCineX Pro version 2 from my harddrive prior to installing the new version?

Michael,

You shouldn't have to delete the old version. On Mac, just open up the .dmg, and drag the App bundle to your Applications folder. On Windows, running the installer package will automatically uninstall the old version and replace it with the new version.
