I'm just waiting for a KDM to arrive, if it doesn't arrive before Thursday I'll have to wait until the new year to watch it (as I am going away for the Christmas week). Pain in the ass. Irony is it'll probably arrive but won't unlock until Midnight on Friday.

    Can't wait.

    Prometheus trailer tomorrow

    Hobbit trailer today

GWDT drive was in my hands a few hours ago. But no key to unlock it.

Michael, one question: how much of that was DPX files? if somehow we could move everyone from DPX over to EXRs in some compressed format (either lossless
PIZ/ZIP, or extremely high quality lossy, eg B44), how many TB do you think you could have saved?
    Bruce-

The 55 or so terabytes in question are made up almost exclusively of DPX files. Working with EXR would absolutely be a better way to go about DI's like this in the future, -Li is implementing a fully linear DI later in 2012. That, plus the fact that a VFX pipeline is better suited for EXR, makes for a much smoother transition between I/O of VFX and color.

AMC Tyler in Riverside, CA (which has all Sony 4K projectors) says that they have the content in 4K for GWDT.

Great work Michael and Ian! I can't wait to see GWDT in January.

    I just found this pic.

The ASC magazine will have many RED covers in 2012.

Nice! Yes, please pioneer this :)

We shall do our best to support you by shelling out cash to see the movies you guys do :P

And I will irritate all of the software companies with EXR support demands! Well, at least Resolve is ready...

wow I wanna say we have more than 7 4K projectors here in Austin.

most of them are Sony 4K, some Texas Instruments and one Digi IMAX.

A good friend of mine saw Revenge of The Sith in 2K back in 2005. He took a 2hr bus ride across town to do so (he refuses to drive).

We really need more 4K projectors out there, so crazy.

Any 4k in Philly? I will be there for the weekend, So better chance to find a 4k theater than in middle of the mountains in New England.

I had a meeting last week with an A-list Hollywood Director who said GWDT is "hands down the most beautiful digital feature I've seen."
