    Hey guys,

So I get my Epic X a few hours ago and I'm so happy and excited to have it that I slapped on the Canon mount, Side Handle and LCD then waited until the Red Volt's charged up.

I turn on the Epic, wow, played with the menus and the first thing I wanted to try was the HDR-X. I touched it and the the whole screen becomes distorted with static - uh oh. So I turned the Epic off and now it won't boot up - nothing on the LCD and nothing on the Side Handle. I've tried taking off everything from the brain and re-attaching it - nothing.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Regards,

    Mark

    Hey guys,

So after that really scary and a bit disappointing 1st run with the Epic I decided to re-charge both batteries and let it rest for a good 3 hours.

3 hours later I popped in a new Redvolt and nothing... ok, the camera was running but there was nothing on the LCD or on the Side Handle. I turned off the camera again and then I took out the LCD cable and turned it back on. The Side Handle was now displaying something, yey, I plugged the LCD cable again and the camera is now working. I shot until the Red Volt is dead, no problems - HDR, 96fps etc.

I reached for my 2nd Red Volt and turned the camera back on again, this time I left the LCD cable plugged in - all good. I've been using the camera everyday since then and no problems so far.

So if something like this happens to you, try and booting the camera without the LCD cable and like in my case, everything went fine.

    Regards,

    Mark

Having a similar problem, except my camera has been on three jobs and working perfectly.I shot a bunch of stuff this morning and all of a sudden got a message error OX0000001E save log and send to RED SUPPORT. I changed cards and I am getting the same message. Now the camera will not boot up at all. Tried unpluging the LCD cable but still will not boot up.

This happened to me. Force upgrading the firmware with the same version fixed it.

    No problems since then.

Got the same problem again today and unplugging the LCD cable isn't working anymore. Red Support suggested to reinstall the latest release build. I haven't tried it yet, I want to wait for my AC Power Adaptor so I'm sure I won't run out of power while in mid-install.

Try reinstalling the firmware David and I hope it works out.

Installing firmware takes like 30 seconds so I wouldn't worry too much unless your batteries are empty. Fixed mine up and was shooting 30 seconds later.

Tnx jim, Red Support suggested me to wait for the AC adaptor too, I dunno, it's going to be here in a few days, I just don't want to risk anything at this stage :) but it's good to know that reinstalling the firmware is working

If you're patient enough then probably best to wait, though Brent said battery is fine for updates if A/C isn't available, just that A/C was preferred for obvious reasons.
