Thank you Alexey... I was confused by this paragraph:

In its default configuration, the RED EPIC camera can simultaneously support one VIEWFINDER output (suitable for use by a BOMB EVF®, or RED LCD) plus one HD-SDI based PROGRAM output and one HDMI based PREVIEW output. Each output can support a set of overlay graphics including camera GUI, timecode, clip name and framing guides; the specific overlay graphics for each type of output is user configurable. --- Page 13 in the EPIc manual

I do notice the SDI output into my DP6 has a funny refresh issue at the top of the monitor, as if it lags a bit. Anyone else notice this with their DP6-SDI monitor?
    Hi Guys,
Dave from SmallHD support here. The bold part above is what the image flip trick fixes. It does not happen on all Red's. If, when you pan you get a little lag on the top 1/8th of the screen. Turning image flip on and mounting it upside down makes this stop happening.
Thanks for all the kind word's about the DP6!

    Richard,
are you able to use the camera's false color and edge focus settings with the small HD?... in other words do these functions transfer through HDMI and HDSDI?

    thanks

Yes, you can see RED's False Color and Edge Focus on the Small HD via HDMI and HD-SDI.

It works on other monitors as well, do you have the HD-SDI output you are using set at "menus"?

The DP6 is my go to monitor when it comes to critical focus. One thing is to output 1080p from the camera. The DP6 is able to process the 1080p signal and give you an even more accurate peaking for the focus, as well as a great 1:1 option.
I use it mainly on SDI as it is more reliable and I can chain it to the client monitor.

( I an not part of SmallHD, just a very satisfied customer, also did I mentioned that I LOVE their customer service and express overnight shippings when something is wrong?)
