The title kind of says it all...wanted to share this mean portable setup I have been running and gunning with around spain.

The glass is a very rare (one of two hundred I believe) Leica R 35-70 2.8 zoom lens that was made by Leica but apparently the cost to build them was more
then what they were selling them for. Optically its an incredible piece of glass, I love the Leica look and feel...the images both very sharp with a smooth roll out,
its hard to describe but hope to post some images soon. Having fun with the macro capabilities as well, The images really shine when you do a little Redcine pro magic on them, the flairs are kind of washy but with a curve added it creates a really interesting look. I notice I get that EPIC streak a lot with this particular lens and I need to control that better, wasn't there some solution from RED or 3rd party?

This thing is mint, dont think it was ever used...lucked out on this one.

I also got the x AB mount, Ryan shipped it in the nick of time for a shoot and I really appreciate his service and products. This is a great piece of kit, its works very simple...clipe on mount, clip on battery...what more can I ask for. It comes with bolts to hard mount it but so far I am just using it without so I can quickly swap the mount out if I dont need it, not sure if thats good or bad but it appears to be working just fine. I am not using a lot of weight but I like the form factor of the HC 90 AB batteries, they are compact and last long and travel (airplane) friendly. I will time exactly how much they last on tomorrows shoot.

Sorry for this brief post but will update when I can, shooting in the country of spain at the moment so internet is spotty. The locations are breathtaking.

    cheers

Found a little article on the lens, which was sold around 1999-2000 according to the writer:

    Amazing!!!

Show us the Bacelo(netta) Beach footage ASAP!!!!

Also you must get Leica-R Vario Elmar 21-35mm f/3.5-4.0 and the you are fine.

Those both lenses have the same optical value as the Leica primes and even more...!!!

I believe he has the Ti Canon Mount on there David. The black locking ring gives it away.

    Cheers David.

    David,

Get Novoflex Leica R to EOS adaptor and you are just fine to mount any Leica R on Epic/Scarlet Canon EOS mount..
